Site Entry Services

We are proud to provide site entry qualification services to the Spartan Project Cargill USA. It is our goal to ensure that contractors working in this facility are able to work safely and abide by the site’s rules and procedures. We strive to do this in the most contractor-friendly, cost-effective manner possible, and pride ourselves on helping all parties involved.

Beginning May 15th, 2017, all contractors and subcontractors will be required to utilize the new badging & scanning system to access the site. The basics of the badging program will require confirmation that each employee has been given basic safety training (required by section 1.15 of the “Contractor Safety Guidelines”), confirmation that each employee has been trained in the proper use, adjustment, limitations, maintenance and storage of the personal protective equipment that will be used on the job (required by section 1.20), confirmation that each employee has been given induction training (required by section 2.10), confirmation that each superintendent/foreman has a current OSHA 10-hour construction safety course (required by section 7.0.6), and confirmation that each employee has passed a drug and alcohol screen prior to being assigned to the site (required by section 7.0.13). In addition, any tasks that require specific training such as accessing a scaffold, entering a confined space, etc. will require proof of training to be provided to Safety Plus Inc. prior to a site entry badge being issued to an employee.

Cargill Site Entry Requirements

Contractors are required to complete a Basic Training Acknowledgement for each employee working at Cargill and send the appropriate documentation to Safety Plus for processing. Contractors' employees must also have cards in order to be admitted on site.

Basic Training Acknowledgement

The Basic Training Acknowledgement will confirm that each employee:

  • Has been given basic safety training (required by section 1.15 of the “Contractor Safety Guidelines”)

 

  • That each employee has been trained in the proper use, adjustment, limitations, maintenance and storage of the personal protective equipment that will be used on the job (required by section 1.20)

 

  • That each employee has been given induction training (required by section 2.10); that each superintendent/foreman has a current OSHA 10-hour construction safety course (required by section 7.0.6)

 

  • And that each employee has passed a drug and alcohol screen prior to being assigned to the site (required by section 7.0.13) 

 

In addition, any tasks that require specific training such as accessing a scaffold, entering a confined space, etc. will require proof of training to be provided to Safety Plus Inc. prior to a site entry badge being issued to an employee.

The cost of Basic Training Acknowledgement uploads is $10/form, and additionally $10/training record. 

Site Entry Card

Safety Plus Inc. will issue identification cards to all individuals who complete all of the requirements. Cards will be utilized to scan into the site. These cards will list the employee’s name, the name of the company, an ID number, and also feature a barcode and the employee’s picture. The cost of the card is $25 which includes all processing and mailing fees.

Employee Job & Task Changes

All employees must initially complete the Basic Training Acknowledgement form, but what happens when an employee must perform a task that was not specified for that employee initially? In these cases, contractors must update the employee’s record by completing the Basic Training Employee Update Form. You will complete this form in the same manner as the initial verification form and send the same type of supporting documentation. Each form sent to Safety Plus will cost $10 and each piece of supporting documentation will also cost $10.

Training Courses and Other Available Services

If you need safety training for your employees, especially training that will allow your employees to perform certain types of tasks while on site at Cargill, you can have your employees complete training with Safety Plus! Most courses are priced at $35/person, and when a Cargill sub-contractor employee completes training through Safety Plus, the $10 data upload fee will be waived.
